The Sunshine Montessori School was started in February 2018 by Swati Roy to cater to the educational needs of children in and around Lexington, Massachusetts. She has more than 15 years of preschool teaching experience.

“
Hello, my name is Swati Roy. I started my career in early childhood education back in 2003 when my older daughter was 10 months old. I found myself truly enjoying caring, nurturing, and guiding preschoolers and I have since dedicated my professional life to child care. I have done my Montessori Teachers Training from Montessori Teachers Preparation of Washington and worked in the field ever since.
My family and I have lived in the Lexington and Belmont areas since 2013. Before moving to Massachusetts, I worked for more than 10 years as a Montessori teacher in Washington State. I worked at a Montessori school in East Boston for 1 1/2 years and then took a break when my younger daughter was born.
I always wanted to start a school of my own, and with the help and support of all the wonderful people around me, I am finally able to do it. Being a mom and teacher gives me a special insight into where students are coming from, where they are headed, and how I can ensure that they are not forced but allowed to learn at their own pace.
My role as an educator/teacher is to guide children to learn in a safe and happy environment. I am excited to work with you all hand-in-hand to make it a great learning experience for our children.

Swati taught both of my kids during their preschool age, in my experience Swati was a brilliant educator with a warm heart who genuinely cared for the success of my children. She focused not only on the educational foundation but went above and beyond involving them in dance and exercise routines after regular study hours to keep the kids active. I would recommend Swati to anyone who is looking to give their kids an environment where they are cared for and challenged.

Miss Swati had my children for a few years and she was absolutely wonderful!! She is very patient, kind and extremely loving. You can tell she treats all the children as if they were her own. But one thing that really stands out is her LOVE for what she does! She pours her heart and soul into her profession.

We love Sunshine Montessori! We were looking for a reliable, loving, clean, fun-based pre school for our daughter and found Swati's school. We couldn't be happier. The program is very engaging with lots of fun activities. Swati is super hands-on and comes up with creative activity ideas. They have a good mix of indoor and outdoor playtime. My daughter has learnt so much in the last 3 months. My daughter loves it so much that she simply refuses to come back home. Swati takes care of my daughter like her own.

I am having a great experience here! My son loves it with Swati. He has been learning a lot of good things. Their fee structure is also very reasonable as compared to other preschools in the area. Highly recommend it.

Our son Parker loves it at Sunshine Montessori School. Swati is very flexible and her daughter is like a big sister to Parker. Swati has been able to get Parker to open up, speaking more and exploring things outside of his comfort zone. The school has a large indoor area with areas set aside for arts and crafts, physical play and eating. The facility is extremely clean. The outdoor play area is very large, almost 100% grass and is completely fenced in. We can't say enough good things about Swati and her school!
